watch for falling interest levels
We are having an earthquake drill right now, which means that a guy is running up and down the hall with an air horn yelling "wake up girls, earthquake drill" and being very convincing, and Debbie and Meg are down the hall pretending to be scared because it's funny. I, on hearing the air horn, got up, locked my door, and turned the music down so they'd think I'm not here. I'm not going outside this early in the morning, I haven't showered. I wonder when it's clear to move about the building in my usual manner. I'll bet it'll be easy to get a shower today if I go in while everybody else is outside pretending to be scared for their lives.When we got the flyer telling us we'd have an earthquake drill and what to do when we had it in our mailboxes, I took one look at it and said "Hi, I grew up in California. Can anyone say LA Quake 1990?" And then I recycled it.
